Population Control

The doctors at Summit Veterinary Services recommend spaying and neutering all non-breeding cats and dogs starting at 5 months of age. For females, we recommend spaying prior to the onset of the first heat cycle to reduce the risk of mammary cancer later in life. With each heat cycle, the risk of mammary cancer increases.
